Now we talk about the making process of this amazing and nutritious Nigerian native meal!!!
RECIPE
- For the soup,
- Palm oil
- Grinded Melon seeds
- Any protein of your choice( beef, Turkey, Chicken or Fish)
- Pumpkin Leaf
- Onions
- Well washed cow skin(ponmo)
- Tomatoes and Pepper
- Seasonings
- Salt

PROCEDURE
Step 1:pour the oil in the pot on a low heat

Step 2: chop your onion and add to the heated oil, and allow to fry for 10seconds.
Step 3: add water to your grinded egusi and mix in a bowl to form a paste like look.
Step 4: fry egusi with the oil and onion already on fire until well moulded.
Step 5: blend your tomatoes and peppers and add the mix to the oil.
Step 6: add your seasoning (still on low heat) cover and allow to cook for 15 minutes.
Step 7: Cut your protein and rinse properly. Put in a pot, add seasoning, ,salt and diced onion, put on fire, and allow to boil for 10 minutes.
Step 8: add the boiled protein and the stock water to the fried mix of oil and pepper and cover to fry for 5 minutes.
Step 9: chop pumpkin leave and wash properly to remove sand add to the boiled mix and allow to cook completely without a trace of water.
And then your Melon(Egusi)Soup is ready to eat with your choice of swallow
